Morera Pell develops his tanning activity in "Adoberia Sabater" or "Catedral dels Blanquers", a modernist building protected as being of cultural interest. The building was the first major tanning industry in the city.   

Company with a long tradition in the tanning sector, located in Igualada (Barcelona).

Morera Pell SL was founded as a Mercantil company in 1995 for the purposes of continuing with family tradition that began in 1920. At that time, leather was made for shoe sole until, from the 60s, it was opted for the tanning of split, first following the line of sole items; and subsequently for the manufacture of leather goods, footwear and belts.

Currently, we are specialized in the manufacture of split with different finishing lines for belts and leather goods. 


Leather Cluster Barcelona is currently a group made up of more than 50 companies in the leather industry value chain.

Its mission is to add, coordinate and stimulate the efforts of all the companies and agents of the value chain of the leather sector in Catalonia, in order to increase competitiveness, improve efficiency and promote the growth of the joint business.

Càtedra A3 in Leather Innovation, a technological partner of international reference for the Igualada Leather Cluster, develops projects promoting innovation, research and the application of new technologies in the leather sector, as well as the training of specialized researchers leather and tailor-made training courses for companies.

It participates in national and international R + D + i programs working with different agents of the value chain of the leather sector.

The Igualada water treatment plant, which currently purifies the wastewater of 28 tanning companies, has the mission of minimizing waste, reducing environmental costs and providing knowledge of water treatment to the entire Cluster.

In the last 20 years, 50% of the water consumption and 50% of the pollutant load have been reduced thanks to the application of the best available techniques, the biological purification of wastewater and the minimization and reuse of waste.
